Immune support is a routine, not a rescue. The pet parents who see the clearest change are the ones who stay consistent past week four, so we price the longer supplies to make that easy.
Amicare Immune Defense — Active Lactoferrin Capsules for Cats & Dogs
Daily immune support for cats and dogs, built around 99% high-purity active lactoferrin.
Amicare Immune Defence is a once-a-day capsule for cats and dogs of every life stage. Each capsule carries a lab-tested stack of immune- and gut-supporting nutrients led by active lactoferrin, the rare protein found naturally in fresh milk. It takes roughly 14,000g of raw milk to yield 1g of lactoferrin, which is why we formulate with the 99% purity grade rather than the 70% grade common in the category.
A bottle holds 60 capsules. On the two-a-day dose that suits cats and small dogs, that is a full 30 days. Medium and large dogs take three to four a day and will move through a bottle faster — which is why most of them start on the three-bottle offer.
Dosing by pet weight
Once daily, with or without food. This is a general guideline — always follow the product label and consult your veterinarian.
| Your pet’s weight | Capsules / day |
|---|---|
| Cats & small dogs — under 5 kg (11 lb) | 2 |
| Medium dogs — 5–15 kg (11–33 lb) | 3 |
| Large dogs — 15–30 kg (33–66 lb) | 3–4 |
| Giant breeds — 30 kg+ (66 lb+) | 4 |
Kittens and puppies under 8 months: 2 capsules daily. During recovery or other high-need stretches your vet may recommend the higher end of the range.

Fiona K.✓ Verified Buyer Thumper · 3 · Labrador Retriever ★★★★★
Thumper eats his own tail and he ate this without a second thought. I mix the powder in and he's done. More steady energy and his tummy's been more consistent. Good stuff for a lab who will eat dirt.
-
Isla M.✓ Verified BuyerBoop · 1 · Siamese Kitten ★★★★★
Boop is a tiny, loud kitten and I wanted something to support her as she grows. I empty the capsule into her food and she's had no upset tummy. All life stages means I'm not guessing. She's playful and gaining nicely.
-
Shelby A.✓ Verified BuyerCrouton · 10 · Dachshund ★★★★★
Crouton is a senior wiener dog and I didn't want another pill to hide. I just mix the powder into her food and she eats. She's had fewer sniffly days after cold walks. Easy daily routine, I'm glad I have it.
Follow-up · Day 35Eight weeks in and Sprocket's tummy has been quiet, which for a Frenchie is basically a miracle. The slow days are gone, his coat still looks a bit better, and I haven't had to go back to half a capsule — he takes the full one mixed into his food without a fuss. I started slow because his stomach is picky and I'm glad I did, but he's settled in. I've already got my next bottle on the way.

Bea C. ✓ Verified BuyerGlitter · 9 · Maine Coon ★★★★★
Glitter is a senior cat and I wanted something that didn't make her life complicated. I mix the powder into her food and she's not fussed. Her appetite's stayed steady, which at nine used to be my biggest worry. Coat looks a little fuller too.
Follow-up · Day 87Three months in and her appetite's stayed steady, coat looks fuller. Still just one capsule mixed into her food, no drama. Best easy win I've found for a senior cat.

Owen D.✓ Verified BuyerSpork · 4 · British Shorthair ★★★★★
Spork is indoor and pretty chill but I still want to look after him as he ages. I mix the powder into his food, no drama. His coat's less flaky and he seems a little more interested in playing. Four stars because the capsule is a little awkward to open with wet paws.
-
Carmen V.✓ Verified BuyerFlabber · 5 · German Shepherd ★★★★★
Flabber is a big, opinionated Shep and I was ready for a fight. I mixed the powder into a small piece of wet food and he ate it clean. Less random itching, steadier energy. I'm not expecting miracles but so far I'm happy.
-
Pete L.✓ Verified BuyerWobble · 6 · Ragdoll ★★★★★
Wobble is a floofy disaster and I wanted immune and gut support without adding another pill. I dump the powder into her food and she eats well. Her tummy's been more consistent, which at her age is a big deal. Would buy again.
Follow-up · Day 95Three months in and Wobble's tummy has stayed consistent, which was the whole reason I started this. She still eats the powder in her food like it's nothing, no drama, no pill-hiding. She's a little more interested in playing and her coat's looking softer. I didn't want to add another pill to her routine and I haven't had to. I'm doing it again when this bottle runs out.
-
Nadia F.✓ Verified BuyerPuddle · 3 · Domestic Shorthair ★★★★★
Puddle is a shy indoor cat and I didn't want to make her life complicated. I empty the capsule into her food and she doesn't even pause. She's been more steady lately and I appreciate the simple daily routine.
-
Yuki T. ✓ Verified BuyerNoodle · 7 · Bernese Mountain Dog ★★★★★
Noodle is a big, drooly mess and this hasn't been a problem. I mix the powder into his food and he eats everything. He had a little cough earlier this season and I'm hoping this supports him. One of the easier supplements I've kept up with.
-
Dana W.Spatula · 6 · Boxer ★★★★★
Spatula is a disaster dog but he didn't even blink when I dumped the powder into his food. Three weeks in, less sniffing, more zoomies. His coat actually looks shinier too, which I did not expect.
Follow-up · Day 42Six weeks in and Spatula's had basically zero sniffly days. Weather's been all over the place and he's not slowed down. Still mixes the powder right in. Staying on it through winter.
-
Cole R.Thermostat · 3 · Domestic Shorthair ★★★★★
Named him Thermostat because he's cold in the paws and hot on the couch. I empty the capsule into his wet food and he eats it without pausing. Last winter was rough for him, so far this one's been calm. Keeping it going.
-
Tanya BGlue · 8 · Golden Retriever ★★★★★
Glue used to get a little under the weather every fall. I mix the powder into his food and he just eats. He's been more perky lately and I haven't had the sniffly days. One capsule a day, no hassle.
-
Greg P. Doink · 5 · Siamese ★★★★★
Doink is a loud, dramatic cat and I was not confident he'd accept a new thing. I've been mixing the powder in for two weeks and he's not fussed, which is a win. She seems a little less dramatic around the doorbell. Four stars only because I have to measure carefully for a small cat.
-
Lauren S. Sprocket · 4 · French Bulldog ★★★★★
Sprocket is a small Frenchie with a stomach that hates surprises. I started with half a capsule mixed into his food and he took it fine. A couple weeks later his coat looks a little better and he's not doing the weird slow days.
Follow-up · Day 30Two months in and Thumper's energy's been steady, no more weird off days where he's just lying on the floor looking at the wall. His tummy's been consistent too, which with a lab who eats dirt is a win. I still just dump the powder into his food and he's done. He'll eat his own tail and he eats this, so I don't have to think about it. Already reordered.
-
Trent R✓ Verified BuyerTater Tot · 4 · Australian Shepherd ★★★★★
Tater Tot is a rescue and sensitive to routine changes. I started slow, half a capsule mixed in, and he took it fine. Coat looks a bit shinier, energy's steady. He's good, so I'm good.
-
Mike H.Sneezer · 7 · Domestic Shorthair ★★★★★
Sneezer earned that name in her first month. I wanted to do something before another sniffly winter. I dump the powder into her food each morning and she's not even paused. No sneezing days in the last few weeks. I'll keep going.
